ON THE PHONE: TIME WELL SPENT
I spend a lot of time on the phone. Anybody who knows me can tell you that. It is an important tool, not just for agents, but also for players.
This brings me to my point. When it rings you never know who is going to be on the other end. So, if you see a number that you don't recognize and you decide to answer it, do so like the person on the other end is a key to your success. After all, it could be a General Manager or Head Coach. You never know. And think about it. If they don't know you, then this is going to be their first impression of you. What is it going to be, someone who is half asleep or someone that is ready for big opportunities. And while I'm at it, lets make sure your outgoing message is clear and professional. I know these things make an impression on me when I'm calling a new client.
